Taylor Wilson

Chapter 1: the radioactive wiz kid

Taylor Wilson was a fourteen year old boy at the time of the Intel science fair, however his interest for Science began long before he was fourteen. At the age of ten he built a bomb using sugar, and stump remover, proud of his work he brought his parents out to see his concoction. Although when he blew it up a large mushroom cloud rose up from the deafening clap of the pill bottle, a larger explosion than he had expected, and the neighbors came running out to see what had happened. What they didn't know was that his experiments weren't coming to an end. When he was ten, at Christmas hi grandmother had given him a book called The Radioactive Boy Scout. Before long he became obsessed with the idea of building a nuclear reactor, so to begin he asked his dad for a Geiger Counter. Starting here he began collecting anything radioactive he could find, building his collection up steadily for two years. At this point he decided he wanted to do more than collect, but to actually experiment. He began seeking out parts for a fusion reactor, which took him years to get. When he was fourteen his parents noticed him being above average, and ended up moving to another state so he could enroll in the Davidson Academy, where he could work alongside other geniuses like him. At the Academy Taylor met Bill Brinsmead, the man who would take him under his shoulder, and help him build a reactor. The two, for months plugged away at the machine, and when they eventually tested it for the first time, they created plasma. On another test they successfully created fusion, this was a huge bump in his status as a fuser. At his science fair he won first place, from a simple sugar and stump remover bomb, to a fusion reactor, he had a spot in the Intel science fair.
